SANITY'S RAGE - YOU ARE WHAT YOU SWALLOW

Debut album by the Belgian band from Dibeek and active since 2002. “You Are What You Swallow” is a classic pure thrash metal old school album, where personality and originality are almost always left aside in favor of classic songs but damn smooth and enjoyable. Already the initial "Aberration Mandatory" makes it clear immediately the potential of the quintet, with excellent drums, well cadenced lead rhythm guitars and the wonderful voice of Kenny Molly for seasoning the whole.
The tracks I recommend are absolutely "Once You Cross", really beautiful; the bestial "Taste of Decay" with excruciating solos and the title track in the end, even if finally, if it were not for these details, the songs resemble each other and there isn't any that can really emerge. It remains an album that I recommend to lovers of classic Thrash who want to use 47 minutes of their time in an intelligent and entertaining way. This is one of several groups which shows us that the '80s Thrash is coming back to the fore, though not like the old times.

COMMANDO - FUCKAHOLICS

Small premise to begin: what you read in this review has been written without to find and therefore listen to two tracks of the disc. "Fuckaholics" is the second (and released last year) album by the Mexican thrash metal band Commando. At the first glance it may seem superficial and the usual disk "for fun", because of the title of the album, of the songs and the cover nothing short of "tamarra". But carefully listening to it you'll quickly notice their worth. Their proposal is a classic thrash metal inspired by Anthrax with atmosphere and pace, absolutely insane, with fluid and flowing songs that never last more than 6 minutes and that you are generally well laid out, with excellent solos and really pleasant to listen to. The tracks I recommend are absolutely "Rambo The War Machine" (do not consider the ridiculous title)with very good drums and one of the best solos of the disc; the exaggerated "Counter Strike", with some of the famous quotation "Arise" of the old Sepultura and a refrain that you will not forget; "The Corpse Collector", at the limits of technical thrash madein Havok. Finally, there is "Kill The Posers", with José Luis De Paro as drummer who gives the best of himself and with guitars that drive the track into an absolutely hilarious and fast way. But I'm lying if I said that this album has no defects: the biggest one are the vocals of the bass player/singer Cesar Zavala, who in some tracks are a little subdued, almost listless, and ruin a decent song as "Scarface". The second flaw (which technically would not be), is the aforementioned lack of being able to listen to the entire album, because the tracks "Intro" and "Night Stalker" can not be found on Youtube. However, it remains an album that deserves much, at least listen to it to hear how much this fun as great band knows how "to hit hard" in his own way.

BRAIN WASHED - WRECKED

Brain Washed is a Polish Thrash / Speed Metal band born in 2011.
Their music is fast and aggressive, their roots are firmly attached to the style of Anthrax with some minor reference of bands like S.O.D. or Vio-lence. Among the strengths of the band there is the nor too basic or too complex technical capacity, and one of those shots that makes you appreciate the songs on first listen. The instrumental part is mostly based on a fast riff and full of Groove, a double bass often used with devastating and fast rhythms and finally a bass that frequently can surprise the listener. Very good band, recommended.

ROARBACK - FACE THE SUN (EP)

Roarback are a Danish Thrash Metal band, born in 2010 and their genre is a mix of Thrash and Death Metal, in facts they're influenced by 80's Thrash Metal and by 90's Death Metal. Face the Sun is an excelent work, with a lot of aggressive riffs, violent guitar solos, the drum are powerful and the voice of the singer is aggressive too. This EP is, also like the band, a very good promise for the Underground world, in particular for the Thrash Metal genre. The only fault is the limitate presence of the bass guitar, that can be heard only in some points. We hope that in future Roarback will return with a new EP or with an official album, good as this one. Recommended to all (Underground) Thrash Metal lovers.

MOSH-PIT JUSTICE - THE SERPENT

Mosh-Pit Justice is a Power / Tharsh Metal band from Bulgaria.
The project is quite varied, in fact really stand out influences Overkill-style, there are also Progressive and a bit of Doom. The album starts with "In Dollar We Trust", the battery switches "lightning" pace with the slower ones, the double bass drum is often used but the steps are almost absent; the guitars: riffs groove in some moments, but in others purely Thrash; the bass is perfectly in harmony with the double bass drum, and the voice in the chorus approaches to Power Metal.
In "Blood of the Tyrant" the drums are much more present but they've the classical speed of the band.
The song that gives the name to the album ("The Serpent") is good too, the guitar mixes Thrash and Power, so the song takes a different look and stands out more than the other tracks. The album ends with "Posers Genocide," a song that reminds me Commando (Yutacàn). A good band that incorporates various aspects of Overkill.

TERRIFIER - DESTROYERS OF THE FAITH

Devastating Thrash Metal band from Vancouver (Canada), they're the incarnation of the old band known as "Skull Hammer".
Debut album strongly characterized by "sharp and lightning" riffs, great solos and vocals in perfect harmony. From the first track you can notice the speed of the band, adding some Groove influence that makes the work in Anthrax-style. The bass has a warm and solid sound, a dirty voice, a young and current sound. The best track of the album is "Legions of the Dead", with an intro similar to that of "Leprosy"(Death), and this suggests that the band has a wider knowledge of what it looks like. Worthy band, due to perseverance and determination they've achieved a good result.

DISMANTLE - ENTER THE FORBIDDEN

Dismantle is a Thrash metal from Los Angeles, one of the most important of their city. Due to the change in the line-up , the album comes to life, it contains power and speed, without forgetting the technique and the audio quality. Already in the first track you can understand their style, starting from the lower sounds they increase more and more until becaming imperative and invasive. "Enter the Forbidden" presents fast riffs and complex perfectly produced by a powerful battery. The "Real of Warmaster" intro is really compelling while "Illusion" surprises the listener with catchy and very exciting riffs;
"Dwelling (In The Darkness) starts like a ballad, but then clearly expresses the skills and inventive of the band.
Great and recommended album.

BETRAYER F.T.M. - NO LIFE TILL FURY

Betrayer F.T.M. is a Thrash / Speed Metal band with Nwobhm influences; they come from Colombia. This is their debut album, characterized by high speed and power, thanks to a superb drummer. The first track is a blend of power, speed and pure adrenaline, old school riffs and solos, in some moments you can hear the excellent performance of the bass; perhaps the only flaw is the lauder sound of the voice than the instruments.
"One Day of Fury has a catchy refrain, excellent battery performance, with extremely fast steps.  A return to theirself homeland in "La Orden of Chaos", sang in Colombian (indeed, Spanish), guitar and drums in complete harmony. Another great song is "Infernal Metal", good refrain and great riffs.
Great band, one of the best Thrash Underground Bands I've ever heard.

CONTROSIGILLO - CONTROSIGILLO

"Controsigillo" is a particular and interesting Thrash/Death metal band from Vercelli. This is an intriguing album with sounds related to the theme of the song with a perfect instrumental piano; the only flaw is the pronunciation. The second track, after the melancholic intro, is "Crop Circles": an adrenalinic song with hypnotic vocals and guitars that make mental mysterious travels, with aliens and UFO. The next track is perhaps the most personal of the album: good riffs, excellent performance by the drummer and the bassist. As good as the previous track, "Arabian Chaos" is a song replayed for this album. The opening riff reminds me a little the song "Shrift" by In Case Of Carnage, Death sounds, improved pronunciation, perfect intonation and a surprising acute at about 2.30. "Chernobyl" is an interesting song, with riffs resembling sirens (to commemorate the disaster of 4/26/86), with atmospheres that remember to me King Diamond .. Another track replayed for the album is the next, with an amazing solo at about the 2nd minute. The penultimate song is "Lupin 3 e il cubo di rubik", obviously done for the classic manga "Lupin". The last track of the album is a bonus track-live: "Infected Oxygen." After the first listen it may be hard to understand the band, but if you listen this album more times you'll see the beauty of this Italian band.

ASSAULTER - CRUSHED BY RAGING-MOSH

Assaulter band was born in 2007 with the 'purpose of creating an hard and fast band Old School-style. In 2011, they come out with this EP, which gets very awe among fans, webzines and radio, even in Japan, is inserted into the top Underground output of 2011. The first track "Crushed by the Raging-Mosh" has good and very fast riffs in some moments, good the drummer who keeps pace with the guitars and good intonation with "duets" Pitiful Reign-style. Lightning performance of the bass player in the next track, breathtaking riffs, good the two tracks following too.
The last track of the album is "Beer!", a short but speed song, perfect riffs and drums well attached. Great Trash band Made in Italy, we're looking forward to the new album.
